“Inside Out 2” is the sequel to the beloved 2015 Disney-Pixar film ‘Inside Out.’ Riley, the young girl from the first movie, is now navigating her ‘teenage’ years when the story continues up. Riley’s primary emotions of “Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear, and Disgust” are managed at Headquarters, where she encounters new emotional difficulties with new emotions such as “Anxiety, Ennui, Embarrassment, and Envy.”
Riley uses a path of ‘self-awareness and equilibrium’ to learn how to deal with the new emotions. Riley’s mind is initially taken over by these new emotions, particularly “Anxiety,” which forces her to alter in order to fit in and be successful. “Joy, Sadness, Fear, Anger, and Disgust,” Riley’s initial emotions, leave the ‘memory vault’ and cooperate with new ones to bring equilibrium.
Joy persuades Anxiety to give up its grip, enabling Riley to create a new, more harmonious “Sense of Self” that incorporates both positive and negative feelings/emotions. The story suggests that personal growth comes from accepting both ‘pleasant and bad’ emotions, rather than ‘denying or avoiding’ them.
Disney plus -
Disney+ is the exclusive streaming platform for “The Simpsons” and a ton of other content, as well as films and television series from ‘Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and National Geographic.’ A constantly expanding library of original material, including “live-action and animated programs,” short-form films, documentaries, and feature-length movies, is available on Disney+.
