The term ‘Cup’ in this table refers to the ‘measurement cup’ for rice that is provided with the relevant product. The inner pot’s water lines are only intended for ‘white rice’
*the ‘measurement cup’ for rice that is provided is equal to a “3/4 standard U.S. cup.” A ‘3/4 standard U.S. cup’ is a perfect substitute for the ‘measuring cup’ in the event that it is lost
The cooking periods are estimates. Actual cooking period can vary depending on “altitude, humidity, and outside temperature”

Measurement Table for ‘Brown Rice’*** -

Before first use -

  • Go over all the important “safety precautions” and instructions.
  • Take out ‘all’ the packaging material and make sure everything received undamaged.
  • All plastic bags should be ‘torn up and disposed’ of appropriately because they can be dangerous for kids.
  • The ‘inner pot, lid, spatula, cup and any other accessory’ should be cleaned in ‘warm, soapy’ water. ‘Rinse well and pat dry’ before returning back towards the cooker.
  • Use a ‘slightly’ wet towel to clean the cooker’s body.

Cooking Rice and Grain*** -

  • Fill the ‘inner pot’ with ‘rice or grain’ using the measuring cup that is provided. In order to ‘assist’ you, Aroma rice cookers frequently contain water level lines inside the ‘inner pot.’
  • To avoid clumping, ‘rinse the rice in water until it runs clear’ to get rid of extra starch.
  • When cooking white rice, add water until the line equals the ‘number of cups’ of rice. Refer to the ‘grain or brown rice’ measurement table (present in Manual) for ‘grain or brown rice’ respectively.
  • Put the cooker’s “inner pot” inside. Securely place the cooker’s cover/lid on. Then, connect the power cord to a ‘wall outlet’ that is 120V AC.
  • To start cooking, depress the cook switch. As soon as the cooker starts cooking the ‘rice or grain,’ the cook ‘indication light’ will turn on. The cook switch will automatically ‘flip up’ and go into ‘Warm’ mode, when the ‘rice or grain’ is ready. The button configuration might be different in ‘commercial and digital’ products so refer to the corresponding ‘Instruction Manual’ prior to operation.
  • Until all liquid has completely evaporated, the cooker will not enter the ‘Warm’ mode automatically. Pay attention to your cooker in accordance with the ‘recipe’ and never leave the cooker unattended. Note: Food shouldn’t be kept on ‘Warm’ in the cooker for longer than twelve hours.
  • Using the provided ‘serving spatula,’ swirl the ‘rice or grain’ to distribute any remaining moisture for optimal results. To shut off the cooker after serving ‘rice or grain,’ unplug the power cable.

Troubleshooting -

The cooked rice is overly firm or dry. If your rice remains ‘chewy, hard, or dry’ after the switch turns to ‘Warm’ mode, it will become softer with more ‘water and cooking time.’ Stir through ‘1/2 to 1 cup’ of water, depending on how dry your rice is. Securely place the cooker’s cover/lid on. Depress the cook switch. Take off the lid and stir the rice to check its consistency once the cooker has switched to ‘Warm’ mode. Continue the process until the rice is moist and tender.

The cooked rice is overly moist or soggy. If your rice remains ‘moist, or soggy’ after the switch turns to ‘Warm’ mode, use the ‘serving spatula’ to stir the rice. In addition to releasing ‘extra moisture,’ this will spread equally the moist from the bottom portion to all over the rice. Put the lid back and let it stay in ‘Warm’ mode for “10 to 30 minutes, or longer, if necessary,” also in-between take the lid off and stir to get rid of extra moisture.

After the use -

  • When the cooker has cooled completely, remove the ‘inner pot.’
  • The ‘inner pot, lid, spatula, cup and any other accessory’ should be “hand-washed or put on the dishwasher’s upper rack.”
  • To remove stubborn food stains, use a soft sponge to clean the ‘inner pot and steam tray’ after 20 minutes of soaking in ‘hot, soapy’ water.
  • Use a ‘slightly’ wet towel to clean the cooker’s body.
  • Dry the cooker’s “body, lid, and all accessories” completely. Put back together for later use.

Instructions*** -

  • Pour three cups of water into the ‘inner pot’ using the ‘measuring cup’ that is provided. Then, put the cooker’s inner pot inside.
  • After filling the ‘steam tray’ with the food, to be steam-cooked, place the tray over the ‘inner pot.’ Securely place the cooker’s cover/lid on. Then, connect the power cord to a ‘wall outlet’ that is 120V AC.
  • To start cooking, depress the cook switch. As soon as the cooker starts cooking the ‘rice or grain,’ the cook ‘indication light’ will turn on. The switch/button configuration might be different in ‘commercial and digital’ products so refer to the corresponding ‘Instruction Manual’ prior to operation.
  • Refer to the “Measurement Table for Meat and Vegetable” (present in Manual) for recommended steaming times for ‘meat and vegetable.’
  • Carefully remove the lid and inspect the meal for completion, after the ‘recommended’ period of time has elapsed. If the food is not cooked in the recommended period, carefully place the lid back on the cooker and allow additional time in “short increments” (such as 5–10 minutes) for cooking.
  • When steamed food is cooked, remove it right away to avoid Because the steam tray will be hot, put on ‘protective, heat-resistant’ gloves to avoid getting hurt/burnt while removing. Then, use the ‘switch’ and turn the cooker to ‘Warm’ mode.
  • After serving, disconnect the power connection.
  • Note: Make sure the meat is ‘fully cooked’ before serving, to guarantee the finest possible flavor and to avoid foodborne illness. If not, you may add extra water to the ‘inner pot’ and cook the meat again until it’s done.

Steaming foods while cooking rice*** -

  • Follow the instructions under “Cooking Rice and Grain” to start cooking rice.
  • After filling the ‘steam tray’ with the food, to be steam-cooked, place the tray over the ‘inner pot.’ Securely place the cooker’s cover/lid on.
  • Use the “Measurement Table of Meat and Vegetable” when steaming food along. It’s best to choose food items that have a ‘similar or less’ cooking time to that of rice. This ensures that both the rice and the steamed food finish cooking at about the same time.
  • Carefully remove the lid and inspect the meal for completion, after the ‘recommended’ period of time has elapsed. If the food is not cooked, carefully place the lid back on the cooker and allow some additional time.
  • When steamed food is cooked, remove it right away to avoid Because the steam tray will be hot, put on ‘protective, heat-resistant’ gloves to avoid getting hurt/burnt while removing.
  • Next, again after securing the cooker’s cover, let it proceed with the rice cycle. The cook switch will automatically ‘flip up’ and go into ‘Warm’ mode, when the ‘rice’ is ready.
  • To shut off the cooker after serving ‘rice,’ unplug the power cable.

Cooking ‘Stew, Chili, or Soup’*** -

  • Fill the ‘inner pot’ with ingredients.
  • Remove the lid carefully to trap as much steam as possible, and use a ‘wooden spatula’ with a ‘long handle’ to stir in-between. Avoid stirring ‘stew, chili, or hot soup’ with the serving spatula provided with the cooker. It is not meant for usage in environments with ‘high’ temperatures.
  • Press the cook ‘switch’ to put the cooker on ‘Warm’ mode after the food item is done.

Safety precautions -

When operating electrical appliances, “basic safety precautions” should always be taken, such as the following:

  • Before using, please ‘read’ all directions. The equipment should only be used for its intended
  • Only use a ‘dry, level, and heat-resistant’ surface for placing the cooker. Avoid using it outside. Avoid setting it “on or next to a ‘hot gas or electric burner,’” or in a warm oven. Only use with an AC power outlet that is 120V.
  • When youngsters ‘use or are near’ an appliance, close supervision is required.
  • Avoid coming into contact with heated surfaces. Make use of the “knobs or handles.” Additionally, keep the equipment’s cord from hanging over the edge of a ‘table or counter’ or coming into contact with heated surfaces.
  • Avoid using the ‘inner pot’ on a ‘cooktop or burner’ to avoid damage or deformation.
  • Avoid submerging the ‘cord, plug, or equipment’ in water or ‘any other liquid’ to prevent electrical shock.
  • Before cleaning and when not in use, unplug the appliance. Before ‘assembling or disassembling parts’ or cleaning the equipment, let it cool.
  • Using accessory attachments that “Aroma Housewares” does not advise could cause an ‘electrical shock, fire, or other harm.’
  • The cooker’s top steam vent is quite hot and could scald you if you ‘touch, cover, or restrict’ it.
  • When opening the lid ‘while cooking or after,’ proceed with utmost caution. Scalding could result from escaping of ‘hot’ steam.
  • When handling the equipment containing “hot rice, hot oil, or other hot liquids,” safety is paramount. Do so very slowly to avoid spilling.
  • The plug should always be unplugged from the wall outlet’s base. Never tug on the ‘cord’ to unplug.
  • Never use the equipment when it has ‘a faulty cable or plug,’ or a malfunction or been damaged in any way. For ‘inspection, repair, or modification,’ get in touch with Aroma customer care.
