A standard American football field is a ‘flat, rectangular’ surface measuring 360 feet (120 yards) in length from “end line to end line” and 160 feet (53.33 yards) in width between the sidelines. The outermost boundaries consist of “the end lines marking the field’s short ends” and “the sidelines marking its long sides”; collectively, these “four lines” are termed the boundary lines.
