ROM

Computer memory that is meant to be read from only — not written to — is known as “read-only memory,” or ROM. This kind of storage holds data that is “immutable” and cannot be altered. Even after the device in which it is installed has lost power, the “contents” of the read-only memory (ROM) remain intact.
