President George H. W. Bush was among those who denounced Barr’s 1990 performance, labelling it as “disgraceful“.
Quick jokes sprang up online, and Twitter users started using the hashtag #SingItLikeFergieChallenge to record themselves overly excitedly shouting out the song.
