In “hands free driving” system, the car makes use of a variety of technologies, including cameras, sensors, radar, GPS, LiDAR map data, and others, to keep an eye on its surroundings and make driving judgements.

Ford BlueCruise is a driver-assist feature (a "hands-free highway driving feature") available on pre-approved Hands-Free Blue Zones, which are sections of split highways. Safe driving is “not” substituted by it. Driver-assist features are an addition to driving; they do not take the place of a driver's judgement, attention, or requirement for vehicle control.
